Around Hamburg: An August Slideshow
Go and see Dierk Haasis's Home Page for the month of August, 2010. The images he's chosen include several that will touch your heart, some that will take your breath away for their sheer beauty, and at least one that might make you laugh out loud. Don't miss the two of Hamburg's harbour bathed in blue fluorescent light, captioned "Blue Impression." And be sure you stick around for "Boing-Boing." (Hover your mouse over the pictures to see the titles and other interesting text.)

Beautiful, enjoyable galleries
Check out the July slide show at the front page of Dierk Haasis's website. The football photos from 2008, placed there in honor of the World Cup tournament, are gone.
Take your time to savor their replacements, and then go on to enjoy his galleries.
As a result of the improvements he made in June, they're more user-friendly and therefore even more enjoyable than before. I like to look at these images full-screen. Beautiful and satisfying, as they succeed one another on my monitor.
Some of them -- chiefly selections from his landscapes -- I have as prints, framed and displayed in my hall and in other places around my house. Truly they are works of art, and living with them enriches my life every day. These can also be seen in his Imagekind galleries, where they're available for purchase.

Slide Show of Past World Cup Celebrations -- and Fine Galleries, Too!
Dierk Haasis has an excellent slide show on his Front Page, in honor of the World Cup tournament now taking place in South Africa.
He's also made improvements in the galleries at his website, and they're now more user-friendly and therefore even more enjoyable than before. I like to look at these images full-screen. Beautiful and satisfying, as they succeed one another on my monitor.

Willard Wigan's Marvelous Micro-Sculptures
Here is an immensely gifted artist, who creates micro-sculptures that fit inside of the eye of a needle or on the head of a pin. Images of the sculptures can be purchased at the website this link points to:
Willard Wigan's art
Click on the tab "The Art of Willard Wigan" to get to a set of 12 thumbnails; on the tab "Signed Limited Edition Prints" to view 20. Clicking on a thumbnail brings up a larger image. The subjects Wigan depicts are quite diverse, and each sculpture is incredibly detailed and beautiful. Some are also wonderfully entertaining.
But if a 10 or 25 or 375 euro price tag is outside one's budget, clicking on the thumbnails allows one to enjoy them on-line, while daydreaming of owning one or two of the images.
For a brief biography, go here
