Early Blooming

The Japanese Kwanzan cherry trees planted along the sidewalk between Granny White Pike and the Lipscomb University campus have begun showing their pink buds and a few open blossoms today. This is the earliest I have ever seen them in bloom. The annual Nashville Cherry Blossom Festival is set for March 24 this year.
