More Volunteer Dandelions

This shaggy-headed little dandelion managed to push its way up from beneath a thick pile of leaves at the edge of my carport yesterday. I took its picture in the early sunlight that slanted into its hideout this morning.

The little patches of dandelion are still showing here and there -- near the back walk, in the driveway median, around the mailbox support post. Bright spots in the wintry grass and hardy green clover.

Kwanzan Cherry Blossoms Update

In the time since I photographed the cherry trees along Granny White Pike in bloom on February 2, we have had many nights when the temperatures dropped into the low 20s. And several episodes of heavy rain. Today I was delighted to find that the Kwanzan cherry blossoms survived all that inclement weather and were still lovely to see against the blue sky.
